The Boston Massacre was a street fight. The colonists were not happy about the “lobster backs” (British soldiers) coming into Boston. The tensions built until on Mach 5 1770, they broke resulting in the killing of 3 men on the spot (a black sailor named Crispus Attucks, rope maker Samuel Gray, and a mariner named James Caldwell), and wounding 8 others, two of whom died later (Samuel Maverick and Patrick Carr). Because of the cold winter in Boston
colonists had "weapons" to aggrivate the Britsh Soldiers such as snowballs, frozen rocks, frozen sticks and ice.
