The Battle of Waterloo took place near Waterloo, in Belgium on June 18, 1815. Until noon of June 18, 1815, Napoleon delayed fighting the battle to let the ground get dry, because the day before it had rained a lot. If he hadn't let the ground dry then all his troops would have to move through several-feet of mud In this battle. Horses and cannons would have been bogged down. The forces of the French Army under the command of Michael Ney and Napoleon Bonaparte were defeated by the Prussian Army, which was commanded by Gebhard Von Blucher. The forces were also defeated by the English Army commanded by the Duke of Wellington. The Battle of Waterloo ended the tyrant rule of Napoleon Bonaparte as the ruler of France.
